CHRISTIAN CHURCH
-
We believe the Old and New Testaments are the inspired and authoritative Word of God. In the Bible we find the revelation of God's will for the salvation of men and the Divine and final authority for Christian life. Matthew 24:35; II Timothy 3:16
-
We believe there is one God, the Creator of all things, who is infinitely perfect and eternally existent in the three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19; I Corinthians 8:6; II Corinthians 13:14
-
We believe Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of all men. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is now at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and Advocate. Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1; 14:1: I Corithians 15:47: Titus 2:13
-
We believe Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost. Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation. Romans 3:23 and 6:23; John 3:3, 16, 17; Romans 10:9, 10
-
We believe Water Baptism, the Lord's Supper and Footwashing are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. However, they are not regarded as a means of salvation. Matthew 28:19; Luke 22:19-20; John 13:12-15
-
We believe the present, supernatural ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. During this age He indwells, guides, instructs and empowers the believer for godly living and service. Every believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues as the initial physical evidence (Acts 1:8, 2:4, 10:44-48 and 19:1-6), and with the fruit (character) of the Spirit as the ongoing life-evidence (Galatians 5:16-25)
WHAT WE BELIEVE
-
We believe every born-again, Spirit-filled believer should maintain a consistent, personal, devotional life, both by praying with the understanding and in praying with the Spirit, and by daily study and application of the Word of God. This will be evident by Holiness of lifestyle, godliness of character and a love of the brethren. Matthew 26:41; Luke 18:1; John 13:34-35; Romans 12:1-2
-
We believe the true Church is composed of all those who are born again. Through this new birth we are united together in the Body of Christ. Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church. Every local Church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs. John 3:3-7; Ephesians 2:4-10; Colossians 1:17-18
