Bishop James B. Jones, III a “highly sought after preacher and teacher” has been the Founder and Senior Pastor of The Greater Tabernacle Christian Church, Brooklyn, NY since its inception in December 1991. In 2013 Bishop Jones, III most humbly accepted the divine appointment as Bishop of the Dunamis Covenant Connection, under the Presiding Prelate Bishop Robert Rochford, Senior Pastor of New Life Cathedral.

 

He serves as the Executive Assistant to the Chief Prelate. Anointed by God, Bishop Jones, III is noted as a “preachers’ preacher” and “teachers’ teacher” with a unique theological and doctrinal approach to sharing God’s Word. He is indeed a man after God’s own heart that is dedicated to his mission to strengthen and transform the lives of God’s people, the unsaved and “unchurched” through the power of God’s Word.

 

Bishop Jones, III received Christ at the tender age of 10. He soon served as an accomplished Minister of Music in the body of Christ for many years, and subsequently was ordained to the gospel ministry in 1984. As God would have it, in 1985 Bishop Jones, III was called to serve his first pastorate at the early age of 23. Prior to being led to birth and build Greater Tabernacle Christian Church, Bishop Jones, III served as a Pastor of two established congregations: Mt Zion Baptist Church, Harlem, NY and Tabernacle Baptist Church, Brooklyn, NY.

 

Bishop Jones, III believes that “God’s people should be learned people”. To this point, Bishop Jones, III acquired a myriad of degrees in divinity and criminal justice administration, including a doctorate of Divinity from the American International Theological Seminary; and he’s currently a candidate for the Doctorate of Philosophy in Pastoral Theology (Religious Studies).
